Expert Tips
- Incorporate Butter fully: Evenly distributed butter is the secret to achieving that ideal textural contrast in your strawberry crunch topping. Properly mixed butter acts as the "glue" that binds everything together, ensuring those delightful crispy bits throughout. Make sure the butter is well incorporated.
- How to crush Oreos? (Using Rolling Pin or Food Processor): For the ultimate crumble texture, I prefer the classic method by placing the Oreos in a sturdy plastic bag, then gently tap them with a rolling pin. This will break Golden Oreo Cookies down into a delightful blend of coarse and fine crumbs. You may also use a food processor to crush the cookies. Place the cookies inside the jar and pulse them a few times. Stop and check the consistency after each pulse to avoid over-processing.
Recipe FAQs
While most Oreo flavors, including Golden Oreos, don't contain animal ingredients in the cookie itself, you need to consider that In some countries, like the US, Oreo sugar may be filtered with bone char, which is not vegan. And even if the cookie ingredients themselves are vegan, there's a chance of them coming into contact with milk or other animal products during manufacturing. Because of this, Oreo doesn't officially label them as vegan.
The simple answer is no. But if you have fresh berries and some time, you can dry them in your oven at a low temperature. This can be a more economical option.
